Teaching Experience

Victoria has previously graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire with a First Class Honours degree with a 2 year specialism in teaching music. After moving back from London, her teaching is now largely based in Yate, Bristol and online. Victoria enjoys all genres and can play and teach anything from contemporary to Baroque. She also regularly plays other instruments in the flute family as well as recorder, clarinet, saxophone and piano.

From a young age, Victoria was involved with teaching others and sharing her love for music, leading flute ensembles at her school and helping younger students with their studies.

Previously, Victoria has participated in a collaborative arts projects in a local special needs secondary school. She went in once a week to work with them on their music and creative skills which culminated in a performance at the end of the term. She has also recently been part of Sound Connection's inclusivity in music education programme looking at making sure music is accessible and enriching for all students no matter their abilities or backgrounds.

Victoria has over 6 years experience teaching one-to-one private tuition with varying ages of student all the way from age 5 to retirement. She currently teaches a mixture of flute, recorder and piano and tailors every lesson to the individual's needs. She has also previously entered her students for ABRSM and Trinity exams (from prep test to ARSM Diploma), in which they have attained 100% pass rate including a 58% distinction rate.

Victoria has taught as part of the Lewisham Music team and has taught across 4 different primary schools in the Lewisham borough. Here, she taught a combination of whole class recorder, small group flute, clarinet, saxophone and theory as well as private woodwind tuition. Over the terms, she hosts mini concerts for her students to share their progress with parents and friends.

On top of this, she has taught numerous courses at Blackheath Conservatoire - Roundabout, Play! Flute, Flute Choir as well as her own holiday courses and family concerts. Please see the projects page for more information on upcoming courses.

Victoria is now taking up a new position in the Bristol area, teaching across 4 schools with WEMA (West of England Music and Arts) as well as setting up her own private music studio, teaching both online and in person in her home studio.

Learning Through Fun

Lessons should work for the individual student - it can be far more effective and fun to learn through musical games!
